Danica won a dinner cruise for one person, so Alvah bought a companion ticket and they were off to Lahaina where they boarded the Maui Princess. Boarding was at the main loading dock across from the old Pioneer Inn.
They were pleasantly surprised at the dinner served. It didn't taste pre-cooked/frozen and microwaved. The dinner, mahi-mahi, was actually quite tasty. They spent a beautiful evening cruising around and watching the Maui sunset. They were seated with a couple from Las Vegas. It turned out to be a very fun evening.

Aloha! Week two of Maui
Claire, Tom & Ella left on Friday. We will miss them. We had a wonderful week.
We decided to explore PART of the road to Hana. Just couldn't deal with the whole trip there. By the time we got to Huele, and after all the "close calls" around each bend of the road, we decided to quit before we were involved in a head-on with a semi. (Roads are very narrow. Some single lane.) We stopped at the Twin Falls fruit stand, and took the one and a half mile hike into the rain forest which lead to the Twin Falls. They were spectacular! (Our Crocs did wonderfully for crossing slippery rocks.) Pictures just can't capture the beauty of the area.
On the way back, we stopped at Mama's Fish House restaurant. After checking out the menu, we decided that $40-$55 menu where way out of our price range.
The Tex-Mex restaurant in Paia, Milagros, was great. We had the Ahi burger and split a Greek salad.

Maui Schooner - Week One
Alvah, Danica, Claire, Tom & Ella arrived safely at the Kahalui Airport. All were excited to relax and relish all the Island fun. After renting their car, they stopped at Costco and loaded up on food and goodies. After packing in groceries into an already packed car, they headed for Kihei and the Maui Schooner. They quickly became "hawaianized" and settled in to the moist, fresh air, the tropical breezes, and the perfume of the flowers. Heaven!
In Ka'anapali, close to the Hyatt resort, we found an abundance of sea turtles. Because of the three recent shark attacks, according to locals, the sea turtles came unusually close to shore so they could escape the sharks. It was amazing to see these wonderful creatures swimming so close to us. Photos were taken by Tom's new underwater camera.
